Principal McCray’s Welcome Letter

On Monday, August 21, 2017, a solar eclipse will be visible (weather permitting) across all of North America. DeKalb County School District’s Science Instructors will engage the students in the investigation of the solar eclipse phenomena. These activities may include instructional lessons within all content areas, televised viewing of the eclipse, and actual viewing of the eclipse with the use of special purpose filters known as “eclipse glasses”.

This permission form is used to inform and to gain signed permission for your child/student to opt-in to the outside viewing of the 2017 Solar Eclipse.

LHS Summer Reading 2017

Lithonia High School is implementing a School-Wide Literacy Program for the 2017-2018 School Year, and we want our students to be active readers over the Summer Break. Summer reading empowers students to develop an appreciation for reading and enable them to become lifelong readers and learners.

must select two books from the attached list and complete the attached reading log and book report forms. Students who complete these reading assignments will receive extra credit in all four of their first semester courses. This will give our students a GREAT start to the 2017-2018 academic school year!

The due date to receive credit is Friday, August 11, 2017.
